A submarine open to the world of China deep
This submarine is the depth of 7000 m
It is called Jiaolong (sea dragon): this submarine 22 tons 8 m long and capable of carrying three crew members would officially come this summer at the depth of 3759 m, making China the fifth power able to access the abyss (the other being the United States, France, Russia and Japan). But Beijing's ambitions go further: since 2002 developed and tested since the spring, the Jiaolong is basically designed to go down to 7000 m, 500 m more than the Japanese Shinkai, the submarine "deeper "currently in service (the French Nautilus down to 6000 m). China is also investing $ 73 million in building a research base on deep in Qingdao (Shandong province). Objective: To develop the exploration of the ocean for the exploitation of minerals in it as well as methane hydrates (natural gas trapped deep in solid form).
