Pebble Smartwatch is a Hit on KickStarter

Raising $2.5 million on KickStarter.com, one would have to say this Smartwatch is going to be a homerun. From the makers of InPulse watches for BlackBerry devices, the Pebble smartwatch is designed for iOS and Android phones and PMPs. This smartwatch connects to your device via Bluetooth and display caller ID, emails, calender alerts, weather, text messages, and social network sites like Facebook and Twitter. The unique black and white e-paper display makes the watch easy to see in the sunlight much similar to the Amazon Kindle. The Pebble will include an accelerometer with gesture detection so you can actually control it with the flick of the wrist. This smartwatch can also connect to your phone's GPS and display geographical location. Golf apps can be used to make your watch a golf caddy. 3 color options will be available: Jet Black, Arctic White, and Cherry Red. Expect to see the Pebble to start shipping late Summer for $149 but contributors to the KickStarter project can get in at around $115.
