When it comes to notebooks and laptops,
Panasonic is a name that doesn’t come to mind instantly as there are
other companies that have been delivering edgy products time after time
to the consumers. However, that doesn’t stop companies such as Panasonic
to make an effort and try to gain market attention by launching new
products.
Panasonic’s Toughbook lineup has brought us some pretty solid products in the past and now the company has launched the Toughbook SX2. The Toughbook SX2 is a new laptop aimed towards professional and business users.
The specifications of the Toughbook SX2 include an Intel Core i5 3.3 GHz processor on board that comes equipped with Turbo Boost Technology. The overall weight of the laptop is 3.13lbs, which makes it a lot more compact that the other products in the same series.
The laptop also has an LED backlit display and the size of its screen is 12.1 inches. The resolution of the 12.1 inch screen is HD+ as the screen boasts a resolution of 1600 x 900 with an aspect ratio of 16:9.
Moreover, the Toughbook SX2 also has a 720p HD webcam on board accompanied by three USB ports, VGA and HDMI ports as well as an SD card slot.
Panasonic has also revealed that the Toughbook SX2 will boast a battery life of 14.5 hours. Since the new laptop is aimed towards business users, Panasonic has increased the security on the laptop, as the laptop comes with supervisor lock, user lock and hard drive lock, along with cable lock, Anti-Theft technology, Computrace and a few other security additions.
The Toughbook SX2 is priced at a whopping $2,649 so we think Panasonic truly had the business users in mind as we don’t think any normal user would want to spend $2,649 on an average looking laptop when he/she can purchase the MacBook by spending the same (or less) amount.
