It is a sad story for AT&T and Verizon’s Samsung Galaxy S3 owners. Why? It seems like the elusive Jelly Bean update is slowly taking its sweet time to get to them. But it is a happy story for T-Mobile USA Samsung Galaxy S3 owners as they have received their Jelly Bean OS update.
Recent reports suggested that Verizon Samsung Galaxy S3 device is soon to get their Jelly Bean update and it is all because of the recent release of the Jelly Bean update (VRBLK1). However, the official version has yet to come.
T-Mobile USA subscribers were just as happy to receive their Jelly Bean update. If you haven’t received yours yet, you can get it Over The Air (OTA) or via Samsung Kies. Meanwhile, Sprint’s variant received their update last month.
Now, this leaves two of US top carriers AT&T and Verizon without their Samsung Galaxy S3 Jelly Bean update.
Originally, it was reported that Verizon will deliver the update last November 16th. It is the 21st now and no Jelly Bean update came to their customers. The VRBLK1 Jelly Bean build mean for Verizon is just a leaked ROM, but rumours are suggesting that this could be the possible final version of the said update. Unfortunately, the said build hasn’t gained official approval yet. Yes, Verizon may be on the way of delivering the said update to their subscribers but as to when exactly? Nobody knows.
There are risks in using a leaked ROM. If you are brave enough, then do it. But if you are the type of person who basically do not know anything about it, I suggest that you leave it alone and just wait for the official update. It may take a while but you are sure to get the right update for your device.
It was earlier this month when a report suggested that the update will arrive to AT&T the second week of November. We are already on the third week and it is still nowhere to be found.
The Jelly Bean update has been made available by Samsung to over 30 countries but Samsung Galaxy S3 owners are still in the mercy of their respective carriers as to when they can possibly get this.
